The Bodum Canteen double wall shot/espresso glass is 3 ounces in size and can be used for cold or warm beverages. Its unique design is appealing to the eye when filled with your favorite beverage. With its double layer of borosilicate glass it appears as though the liquid is 'floating' within the glass. They will not sweat when filled with a cold beverage, so you will not have to use a coaster. The double wall creates a thermal effect, helping to keep your cold drinks cold and your hot drinks hot for longer periods of time. These mouth blown glasses are an exciting product for any home, restaurant, and cafe and are a definite conversation piece. The double wall also makes for a nice votive candle holder, eliminating wax spills and the need for a coaster. Bodum’s insulated glassware is made from durable Borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass traditionally used to make scientific lab glass. Stronger than traditional “soda-lime” glass, borosilicate can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in everyday glassware. The boron oxide acts as the glue holding the silicate together. Due to small size of boron particles, the glass is held together tighter, resulting in a stronger, lighter glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong due to the bonding capability boron oxide. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass that is resistant to temperature swings and scratching. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is resistant to temperature swings, In addition to being dishwasher safe borosilicate will not become cloudy over time; you can rest assured that after 1,000 cycles, the glass will be as clear as the day you bought it.

I do not use these for espresso or coffee of any kind (I use mugs). I use them for white wine. They are beautiful, the glass shows off the color of the wine perfectly, and they keep the wine cool. They are much more stable than stemmed wine glasses, and the glass is very fine.

Love these glasses. I used them for tea. They keep the liquid hot and the clear glass let me appreciate the unique color of each brew. I will be buying a taller set for cold drinks.

I tried to heat some milk in the microwave with this, and the inside glass wall cracked. It is a very pretty product but should not be sold as microwave-safe.

I wanted glasses without handles, because I am transferring into cups for lattes. They are very light, which probably means fragile, but for a home: perfecto.

I have had these glasses for almost a year and I love them. They are great for a double shot of espresso and they are not as fragile as some early reviews have said. They are like lab glass, so they're somewhat thin but I wash mine in the dishwasher no problem so far (knock on wood).
